Year 2008 is the 25th anniversary of my graduation from Willamette University with a Bachelor of Science degree, and now it is the beginning of my pursuit of a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Washington. After nearly a 23 year career at Walla Walla Clinic as the Information Systems Manager, I decided it was time for a change. On October 5, 2007 I resigned my position and began taking classes at Walla Walla Community College to explore various areas of interest. After spending time reflecting on my interests and skills and investigating various career possibilities, I discovered that a Master of Library and Information Science is a great fit for me. I also discovered that UW has a top-ranked program, so in January of this year I began the application process to be accepted into their program. In May I received an invitation from the UW to become an Online MLIS student (Distance Learning). So, 25 years later, back to school I go! Tomorrow the journey begins!...
