WWCC DFW – Week 8

The media inventory report is complete! In summary, the inventory process is labor intensive, but the results are thorough. It allows for catching missing, mislocated, and misidentified items as well as other problems and issues. It is important to note that the process could be simplified for a less thorough inventory. One could simply scan the shelf items using the KOHA check-in feature and then run the KOHA Inventory/Stocktaking report tool to create a list of items not seen since the check-in date (and not currently on loan). This simplified inventory process will only catch missing items. Obviously, it will not catch all of the other problems and issues that the more thorough process can reveal.

I have now shifted my entire focus toward finishing the IL outcomes inventory. I am finding it easier to apply our list of identified outcomes to the course curricula after clarifying them with Quill last week.
