WWCC DFW – Week 9

I continue to make good progress on the IL outcomes inventory project. It is beginning to go more quickly now that I thought to use a blank Excel spreadsheet as a scratch pad. I copy the course listings from the WWCC website and paste them into Excel so that I can resort them in course number order and then use it as a checklist to make sure I entered all the courses into the grid in my Word document. Also, many courses are repeated throughout the different degrees, so I am able to copy and paste grid line items from one degree audit to the next. Though my final artifacts and deliverables are officially due to be posted by March 8th, I have assured Darcy and Quill that I plan to continue working through the remainder of the quarter to bring this project to completion. I will continue to meet with Quill to discuss the questions, which I have highlighted in yellow within the grid document.

My weekly meeting with Darcy focused on my final review, which she will be submitting to Lorraine Bruce (the UW instructor who is overseeing the DFW program this quarter). I was pleased to hear from Darcy that this has been a mutually beneficial experience, and that the WWCC library will be able to continue to leverage the outcomes of my projects into the future. I was also pleased to hear, and appreciated, Darcy’s insights, advice, and encouragement for my future as a librarian. She has given me a boost of confidence, and has been a great mentor. I value the relationship we have established.
