I finally completed my inventory sample. In addition to finding several missing items, I identified several problems and issues as well. I ran a post-inventory shelf list to verify that the missing items “float to the top” (via sorting by the date-last-seen field). In addition, I ran the KOHA “Inventory/Stocktaking” report tool to see if the results of that report match the results of my shelf list reports. I was pleased that the cross checking verified that the inventory process is accurate. My final step is to document the steps for the inventory process and to write a detailed report of my findings in performing the process.
I also had a chance to meet with Quill regarding my issues with the IL inventory. I now have a better idea of how to apply our IL outcomes to the course descriptions. We are now scheduled to meet weekly to review any questions/problems that come up during the course review process.
